Adopted!

I am thrilled to announce that our little Xanadu was adopted on Saturday. I look forward to hearing how he's settling in! He had already made himself at home within an hour of getting there, so I'm sure he's doing just fine.

In other awesome news, our boy Handsome Jack was adopted from the SPCA.

His adopter wrote: This is Emmet (Handsome Jax while at the SPCA). He is very happy in his new home, thank you.

Adopted!

Handsome Jack was adopted!!! We were planning to visit him this coming week since he had returned from the sick room, but he was just too awesome and someone beat us to it. Best of luck to him in his new home, and much love to him forever.

Thoughts

While I was sad to see him go, I know it was the best for him. We weren't getting any interest at all in him, and cats just don't get adopted from foster. He's a great cat and he deserves to find his new home as soon as possible. He also deserves to be around other nice cats; Madeline's fussing has gotten worse, not better, so much so that I almost decided to bring him back to the shelter on Monday. Then he started playing with his newspapers and I knew I couldn't put him in a kennel. He doesn't like small spaces. Last night, Madeline actually got him and he had a tiny bead of blood in the middle of his face. We had to find a better place for him.

We've never been to the SPCA, and despite my reservations about them, I know that they have a better chance of finding him a good home faster. I'm hopeful that they'll take good care of them. We may make our first trip to their adoption center to see what it's all about.

Madeline is ecstatic and has been playing hard all night. I didn't realize how on edge she's been. As much as we miss him, I know it's the right thing for both of them, and I'm glad to see her happy and relaxed.

Little does she know, baby is almost better and ready to be released from his room :) He also needs a new name!

Love you, Jack

Bye, Handsome Jack

I'll miss the little monster that did this, but I know the SPCA will find him a new home faster than I could.

Big week

It certainly has been an exciting week. Mambo and Samba went to the SPCA, Tango and Minuet were adopted together, AND mama Sofya was adopted, too! I haven't gotten any updates, but I'm sure they're all doing great.

Handsome Jack is doing well, but he's ready for his forever home and really wants a friend to play with, not mean 'ol Madeline.

Today I brought home lil Herschel, who has a URI but seems to be doing okay. I'm a little worried that he's laying down so much, but it's his first day home, so I'll give him a break. I pulled him out of the stray room yesterday, and poor little guy almost immediately exploded with snot. He's feeling much better today, though, and I'm completely in love with him.

Available!

Handsome Jack has been cleared for adoption! His wound is healing beautifully and the vets think he's ready to find his new home.

The kids have also been cleared, so everyone here is ready! Poor Sofya is still sick, but she's the least sick kitty in the sick room and is doing great, so I know she'll be back up soon.

Silly kitty

I keep telling him, "There is no Mommy outside. There is no head-scratchins outside. There is no second dinner outside. Why you wanna go outside?"

Too much Handsome

Success!

We were worried that he was barely eating, and figured he's probably a social eater. He was fine eating alone when he spent a lot of time alone, but he started refusing to eat when closed in his room.

Finally put his food on his dresser, and he went to town. He ate like he hadn't eaten in days, which was pretty much true.

He had a vet visit on Wednesday, and we're no longer cleaning his face. They said bring him back in two weeks for a check-up, but I might take him in next week, depending on how it looks. They popped out a few more stitches, and he's really healing up nicely.

He's settling in.

When Madeline's being mean.

He spent his first night out with Madeline, and they did fine. A little bit rambunctious and a little too much playing, but he's much happier.
