Relaxing Madeline

I didn't want to ruin it by moving to take a picture, but Madeline was sleeping on the bed with us, despite Honey also being on the bed. I think she's getting used to Honey. Unfortunately, my husband had to move his leg and she got spooked.

Progress.

This girl loves to play! Sorry so dark.

Madeline

She is learning how to "hang out", which is what I consider time she is near me but I'm not petting her. She started off playing ("killing" the quilt), then groomed, and now she's just listening to the dogs beat the crap out of each other downstairs. So proud of her.

Madeline

I'm so proud of her. Madeline has come so far and sometimes acts like a normal cat! She is painfully shy but now greets us when we come to her room. She loves attention and will make someone a very sweet, strange companion.

Shelley

I love this kitten. He is just so darn happy. He never complains. Uses his litter box. Eats like a champ. Loves everyone and everything. Protests minimally even for baths. He'll make some lucky someone(s) very happy.

Adoptable soon!

Still no room at the inn

It's been a while since I've had a chance to update this blog. Zeta is currently in training and has just one more class to go (though there may be a follow-up session or two). She's such a smart girl that she learns quickly, even though we don't reinforce the training nearly as much as we should. She still has some of the insecure behaviors but the trainer is dedicated to helping us work through them. Friends have said that she's gotten better, and we can see it every day in little ways.

We've taken in a hamster with a skin condition that makes it unadoptable. He's perfectly happy and doesn't seem to realize he's "too unsightly to be adopted." I think he's fantastic.

Our amazing foster cat Kenneth was adopted very quickly from the adoption floor. We brought home a "too little", who had us concerned for a while but has lately rebounded and might even be adoptable soon.

More about him coming soon.

We also have a new adult cat, Madeline. She goes in for her spay surgery tomorrow and is adoptable NOW. She's a very shy cat and was not doing well on the adoption floor, so we brought her home. She's very nervous, but hopefully we can help her get more comfortable with life. She's between 5 months and one year. I'll post new photos of her soon, also.
