Tina has been adopted!

She finally made it to the adoption floor Tuesday, and before we could even see her this weekend, she was adopted! Hope her new family deserves her. She's a sweetie. And nuts. But a good girl, either way.

Boris has been adopted!

I'm a little late, but I'm happy to share that Boris has been adopted!

He went to the SPCA in hopes that he would find his forever home. He hid all the time and stopped eating, so they put him in the vet observation area. His foster mom found out and decided to adopt him. He's at home, forever, where he's happy. So happy for him :)

Tux (fka Xanadu)

Especially after Frank, I love getting these updates from Tux's mom. He's doing great and his big brother loves him. He's just the best!

Christmas kitty

Xanadu (new name pending) is settling in well and winning over his new brother. He also loves the Christmas tree:

I miss this little guy, but I'm glad he found a great home of his very own.

Adopted!

I am thrilled to announce that our little Xanadu was adopted on Saturday. I look forward to hearing how he's settling in! He had already made himself at home within an hour of getting there, so I'm sure he's doing just fine.

In other awesome news, our boy Handsome Jack was adopted from the SPCA.

Mars

We had this little guy for a few days while he was getting over a cold, so he could have his surgery and go home. I'm sure he's doing just fine, too. Seemed like a nice family. You can't tell from this photo, but he had little tiny legs! Shy but sweet.

Adopted!

Handsome Jack was adopted!!! We were planning to visit him this coming week since he had returned from the sick room, but he was just too awesome and someone beat us to it. Best of luck to him in his new home, and much love to him forever.

Update on Quinn

I don't have the opportunity to check in on all our former fosters, but every now and then I get a nice update that helps me remember why we let go. This is Quinn, Honey's little brother, who was just so perfect we almost kept him. He's doing great, though, and he and his brother Ghost have been buddies from the start.

"Quinn is doing absolutely great! I moved into a house of my own about 2 months ago and got a fenced in back yard for the boys to run around in. They love it. Most days I have to fight to get Quinn back in the house. He loves laying the the sun. :) Ghost and him are still inseparable. I think it was brotherly love from the first day. [...] After working with Quinn all summer, I was finally able to get him into the water and swimming. Now it's difficult to keep him out when we go hiking. :)


He is still just as stubborn as ever when it comes to climbing up on my bed at night, but he just wants to be close and snuggle. Lol

Big week

It certainly has been an exciting week. Mambo and Samba went to the SPCA, Tango and Minuet were adopted together, AND mama Sofya was adopted, too! I haven't gotten any updates, but I'm sure they're all doing great.

Handsome Jack is doing well, but he's ready for his forever home and really wants a friend to play with, not mean 'ol Madeline.

Today I brought home lil Herschel, who has a URI but seems to be doing okay. I'm a little worried that he's laying down so much, but it's his first day home, so I'll give him a break. I pulled him out of the stray room yesterday, and poor little guy almost immediately exploded with snot. He's feeling much better today, though, and I'm completely in love with him.

Sofya

We got a new mom with babies a couple weeks ago. This is why I haven't posted any pictures:

She is a gorgeous cat and the kittens are all adorable, but it's impossible to get a good photo of them in the dim light in that room.

In the meantime, Sue was adopted from the shelter. I got an update that Boris is doing well in his foster home and actually looks for attention and loves all the other pets, but he is still very shy. Bessie is still available at AniMall.

Chester

Our handsome boy is being suitably spoiled.

Chester has gone home!

Chester was adopted yesterday. We'd been communicating with the family for about a month and were finally able to have a meet and greet, where they fell in love with Chester. Unlike the others, they were sure that he was the one, and I'm sure that he'll have a great life with them. We miss him, of course, but we're happy all the same.

After more than 6 months with no real interest, Madeline has finally found her forever home. She celebrated by welcoming her mom home

and demanding dinner.

She is clearly excited,

and so are we! She's such a wonderful cat and we are happy to welcome her, permanently, into our family.

Remembering

While I was out today, Nick crossed my mind. I'm not sure why, but just thinking about him brought tears to my eyes. He was a sweet, gorgeous kitten and grew to be an even sweeter, handsome cat.

When I got home, there was a letter in our mailbox from his adopter, who named him Chester. He got our card and replied to let us know how much they loved and miss him. Losing him was, by far, the worst part of the fire.

Neko was adopted today. Best of luck to him, his new dog sibling and his new mom. He is awesome.

Jazz went to rescue today. He is at the PetSmart in Fuquay Varina, so you can look for him there. He is also awesome :)
