Tina has been adopted!

She finally made it to the adoption floor Tuesday, and before we could even see her this weekend, she was adopted! Hope her new family deserves her. She's a sweetie. And nuts. But a good girl, either way.

Tina update

It's been a while since we've posted about Tina.

We've had her since October, and she's all grown up. Her ringworm is gone, her URI is gone (she still sneezes every now and then). She's perfectly content with her blindness and acts like a normal cat (who sometimes loses her toy if it doesn't make any noise).

She's a beautiful, sweet, playful girl who loves to ambush and purrs all the time. She still takes her meds like a champ. She plays with Madeline as much as Madeline will let her.

The SPCA pulled her once her case was resolved. They treated her ringworm and got her on meds for her eyes. Now they say she's ready for spay and adoption... once her eyes get checked again. I've been waiting for word from them since December 14; I checked in December 20 and was told to wait, and checked in again on Tuesday and was told the same thing. It feels like poor Tina has been forgotten. We love having her here, but she is ready for her own home. She's a big, healthy and happy girl who needs her forever family.

No, she can't stay here (unless she's somehow deemed unadoptable). It's rude to ask that of a foster family.

2 PM: Eye drops, L-lysine in canned food
7 PM: Eye drops, oral dewormer, canned food, litterbox cleaned
11 PM: Eye drops, canned food

And, of course, rubbins and belly rubs.

Tomorrow: Lime-sulfur dip! Wooh!

Good news!

It's not hyperthyroid! Tell your friends!

Turns out the mass is benign and non-functioning, and all other lab results were normal, so Gimlet is available for adoption! So proud of my rowdy old man!

Gimlet and the kittens

A common symptom of hyperthyroid is "my old cat is acting like a kitten again!" Which is cute, but not normal, and it's like the cat is on speed: it strains the heart and the rest of the body in turn. I'm not sure if he'll still want to play with them in 3 weeks, but for now, he's happy to have friends.

Everyone is staring at him because he was being silly and playing under the dresser.

His favorite place to play is behind the curtain.

The kittens were playing under the bed, and as hard as he tried, he couldn't get them to come play with him.

So he looked on in disappointment.

Hi there! I'm Cheddar! I'm a sweet, adorable orange tabby kitten looking for a great forever family. I'm laid-back and easy going, but I also love to play. I can pretty much handle anything that comes my way.

I'm kind of a smarty-pants because I learned about "food" first, and I used the big-kitty litterbox way before anyone else. I'm pretty advanced and smart.

I'd love to go to a family with another cat or kittens. You should check out my siblings and my mom, Gala, too! They're all pretty awesome.

Adopted!

I am thrilled to announce that our little Xanadu was adopted on Saturday. I look forward to hearing how he's settling in! He had already made himself at home within an hour of getting there, so I'm sure he's doing just fine.
