While I was sad to see him go, I know it was the best for him. We weren't getting any interest at all in him, and cats just don't get adopted from foster. He's a great cat and he deserves to find his new home as soon as possible. He also deserves to be around other nice cats; Madeline's fussing has gotten worse, not better, so much so that I almost decided to bring him back to the shelter on Monday. Then he started playing with his newspapers and I knew I couldn't put him in a kennel. He doesn't like small spaces. Last night, Madeline actually got him and he had a tiny bead of blood in the middle of his face. We had to find a better place for him.
We've never been to the SPCA, and despite my reservations about them, I know that they have a better chance of finding him a good home faster. I'm hopeful that they'll take good care of them. We may make our first trip to their adoption center to see what it's all about.
Madeline is ecstatic and has been playing hard all night. I didn't realize how on edge she's been. As much as we miss him, I know it's the right thing for both of them, and I'm glad to see her happy and relaxed.
Little does she know, baby is almost better and ready to be released from his room :) He also needs a new name!
