Xanadu and Madeline
Madeline seems to approve of baby Xanadu. He tries to interact with her sometimes, but he's not a pest about it. She's not obsessed with knowing where he is at all times (even in her room), which means she's relaxed about him. I'm impressed with both of them.

A little fresh air
It's taken baby a long time to feel better. Since the weather was so nice, we went out for a walk and he really seemed to enjoy himself. He has since had his neuter surgery and is available for adoption, but he does still have some lingering congestion. He sounds like Darth Vader and I can usually hear him before I see him coming.
He's a good boy with healthy appetite. He's litterbox trained and friendly and/or avoidant with other pets. He's definitely in his "getting into things" phase, but we've certainly had worse and he's a joy to have around. Even in the carrier, he's just a happy kid. He purrs when he's picked up and then runs to play when he's put down. Couldn't ask for a better boy.

Update on Quinn
I don't have the opportunity to check in on all our former fosters, but every now and then I get a nice update that helps me remember why we let go. This is Quinn, Honey's little brother, who was just so perfect we almost kept him. He's doing great, though, and he and his brother Ghost have been buddies from the start.
"Quinn is doing absolutely great! I moved into a house of my own about 2 months ago and got a fenced in back yard for the boys to run around in. They love it. Most days I have to fight to get Quinn back in the house. He loves laying the the sun. :) Ghost and him are still inseparable. I think it was brotherly love from the first day. [...] After working with Quinn all summer, I was finally able to get him into the water and swimming. Now it's difficult to keep him out when we go hiking. :)
He is still just as stubborn as ever when it comes to climbing up on my bed at night, but he just wants to be close and snuggle. Lol
All is well"

Xanadu is adorable
My little boy has been on meds for weeks, but he's not 100% yet. The vets decided to stop the meds and hope he gets better on his own. He sure seems to feel fine.

I LOVE THIS CAT
Glad to have my girl back
Since Handsome Jack left, Madeline has started sleeping with me again. It's very inconvenient, but I missed her.

Thoughts
While I was sad to see him go, I know it was the best for him. We weren't getting any interest at all in him, and cats just don't get adopted from foster. He's a great cat and he deserves to find his new home as soon as possible. He also deserves to be around other nice cats; Madeline's fussing has gotten worse, not better, so much so that I almost decided to bring him back to the shelter on Monday. Then he started playing with his newspapers and I knew I couldn't put him in a kennel. He doesn't like small spaces. Last night, Madeline actually got him and he had a tiny bead of blood in the middle of his face. We had to find a better place for him.
We've never been to the SPCA, and despite my reservations about them, I know that they have a better chance of finding him a good home faster. I'm hopeful that they'll take good care of them. We may make our first trip to their adoption center to see what it's all about.
Madeline is ecstatic and has been playing hard all night. I didn't realize how on edge she's been. As much as we miss him, I know it's the right thing for both of them, and I'm glad to see her happy and relaxed.
Little does she know, baby is almost better and ready to be released from his room :) He also needs a new name!

Bye, Handsome Jack
I'll miss the little monster that did this, but I know the SPCA will find him a new home faster than I could.

My adorable little boy
I need to think of a name for him. He's eating so much! He's gaining weight fast. He still doesn't know how to play, but I'm sure he can figure it out.

New baby
Day 4, and he's finally feeling better. Today he runs to meet me at the door and his appetite is good. I'm hopeful :)

Big week
It certainly has been an exciting week. Mambo and Samba went to the SPCA, Tango and Minuet were adopted together, AND mama Sofya was adopted, too! I haven't gotten any updates, but I'm sure they're all doing great.
Handsome Jack is doing well, but he's ready for his forever home and really wants a friend to play with, not mean 'ol Madeline.
Today I brought home lil Herschel, who has a URI but seems to be doing okay. I'm a little worried that he's laying down so much, but it's his first day home, so I'll give him a break. I pulled him out of the stray room yesterday, and poor little guy almost immediately exploded with snot. He's feeling much better today, though, and I'm completely in love with him.
