View from the crate

Rainy day Buster

Buster didn't want to go potty outside in the rain. So I gave him this rain jacket so he would be more comfortable.

He looks pretty comfortable to me.

He also got cleared by the vets today, so he is adoptable!!!

Buster and Honey

This guy is on antibiotics twice a day, steroids once a day (was twice a day), fish oil every day, ear cleanings every week, medicated baths every 4 days and topical spray as needed. I had no idea this is what I was signing up for, but he's been great.

He is house-trained, but the steroid make him thirsty, so he drinks a lot which means he pees a lot. Sometimes he can't hold it, but he tries. He tries really heard.

He enjoys Nylabones, soft toys, squeakers, tennis balls, other balls, and treats most of all. He is crate-trained and sleeps quietly through the night. He even goes in there sometimes on his own, just to hang out.

He's a good boy, and we're happy to have him. I'm sure this is much better than being a yard dog.

Buster

Buster was returned to WCAC after 3 years because his owner was moving. He was actually adopted about the time that Honey came to the shelter, and they're about the same age now. We have him in foster now because he has dermatitis on his back end (which he did not have when he was adopted). I did his intake, and when I asked why his back end looked so bad, she shrugged and said, "He's a yard dog."

Well, ma'am, I've seen plenty of "yard dogs" that are well cared for and don't look like crap. Just sayin'.

There was some hesitation because he's been particular about the dogs he's liked (as in, none so far), but he really hit it off with Honey so we brought his big 70 lb butt home.

He played really well with Honey that first night, but then he hurt himself (or she did something to him) yesterday and he was sullen all afternoon and all evening. Today he seems back to normal.

Tux (fka Xanadu)

Especially after Frank, I love getting these updates from Tux's mom. He's doing great and his big brother loves him. He's just the best!
