Chester has all the feet

Treatment

We took Chester in for his first Immiticide injection today. He rode up front in my lap, so I'm covered in dog hair. The vet put me at ease, a little, but I'm still worried about Honey getting him too excited when he gets home.

Honey has been bad about peeing when left out, so we've been crating her, with modest success. When out, she pees about 80% of the time. In the crate, it starts at 25% and decreases. Today, she panicked because we took Chester and left her, so she busted out and greeted us at the door. She pushed the crate bottom out and squeezed through the gap. No damage to her or the house. Poor girl.

Sweet Sue

We brought Sue home on Tuesday. She has/had a URI, but seems fine now. No sneezing at all today. She's very solid, lean, and has Oriental eyes. She loves attention. She makes crazy biscuits and will lick you.

I think her tail is broken and might need to be removed, but she doesn't seem to notice. We'll find out on Tuesday.

Lap dog

All the other photos were blurry because we were having so much fun. Chester is the BEST lap dog.

Baby J

This is our new little guy. The eight left on Sunday, and I got called back to work on Monday to take him. He was brought in by an animal control officer and there was no one at the shelter to care for him. He's just barely too young to feed himself. So we took him, and it's a good thing, because he ate at 8 PM, 11 PM, 4 AM and 8 AM, then again at 10 AM, 2 PM and 6 PM while I was at work.

I didn't expect him to sleep through the night, but he did. I accidentally woke him up at 5:30 AM when I checked in him, so of course he had to eat. He's good about eating, getting cleaned, snuggles and back to sleep. These are the first photos I could get because I've been so busy taking care of him, and he burrows when he sleeps, so no pictures then, either.

Bessie

Bessie has also left us. So that we could take more kittens, we made the tough decision to follow through with the original plan and take her to AniMall, where she'll be sure to find a new home quickly. She's so full of personality and so much fun, someone better fall in love with her fast.

She was officially pulled by Triangle Rabbits, she's been spayed and she is available!

Bye bye, kittens

Ramona and her kids are all gone. We even had another litter of four for a few days, and they're gone, too. The kids all went to rescue and Ramona went to her new home, where she'll eventually be released. I miss my kids terribly. Our new baby, who has yet to be named, is about the same age as Ramona's were when we got them. But, I'm mom. So it's a little stressful, but hopefully I can handle it. And Alex is helping. And feeding me. I actually got called after I got home from work and asked to come back to get the kitten, since it was after close and everyone was gone, and no one was there to care for baby. Poor baby. But he ate like a champ, and after a little potty scare, he's sleeping like... a baby.

Breaking news!

Chester thinks he's a mommy!

I brought home a three week old kitten, and finally let Chester get close. Instead of trying to eat the baby, Chester licked him like a good mommy. He probably would have helped with potty time, too, but I don't know if he's ready for that.

I wouldn't leave him unattended with a baby, but I'm very happy that his first instinct isn't to chomp. I wonder if he just wanted to mother that chinchilla...
