Twinkletoes- Adopted!

Twinkletoes went home with her new mom this afternoon. I met her future little brother, and he seems very sweet. Hopefully I can get a photo of him up soon. I hope Twinkletoes' new mom appreciates her! She's a great kitten!

Twinkletoes, supermodel

The easiest photos to get of kittens are of when they are asleep (and I have plenty of those for a later post). But sometimes it is nice to see them up and in action.

She is so sweet and so cute, I can't imagine why she hasn't been snatched up yet. Yes, we are being a little particular about her future home, but surely someone out there is looking for another kitten to add to their family!

Fat Boy: Adopted!

Fat Boy had a very successful meet and greet this morning and went home with his new mommy!

"Look at my super cute new collar!"
He's met his giant big brother, another rescue, and I'm curious to know what his new name will be. We knew he'd outgrow his name eventually =)

Thanks, new mom, for the great pics! (And fast, too!)

Look at all those toys!

How to meet us

Unfortunately, Fat Boy and Twinkletoes did not get adopted today. We had to leave the adoption event early because Mommy had things to do. I figured this would be a good time to tell how to meet them.

Because of previous no-shows, I will not be taking them to work to be seen by potential adopters. This is not fair to them because they have to spend all day in a crate instead of running around the house, and not fair to me because I constantly worry and then get very angry when the person doesn't show. I don't need any additional stress at work.

If interested, please send me an email (contact info is to the right). The days we are available are typically Sunday through Tuesday. The meeting place would be the Wake County Animal Center and the time is flexible. If you do not have any other animals and have no intentions of getting another, please do not inquire about them. There are many animals available for adoption at WCAC, no questions asked. I will ask questions =)

Come meet us!

Both Twinkletoes and Fat Boy had their surgeries today and will be at Sunday's adoption event at Petco in Durham from noon to 3 PM. For $45 each, they can go home! Their adoption fee includes their surgery, microchip and up-to-date vaccinations. They are too young for their rabies vaccinations, but they can come back when they are old enough and get it done for FREE. I'll also include a small baggie of the food they've been eating. Please be mindful that they will only go home with families with other cats/kittens.

Come meet them!

Squishy Fat Boy

Squishy Fat Boy (89348)
Squishy got his name because he was found one month ago smashed behind a dumpster so tight that he was stuck. They had to use a stick to get him out. He's always been a little heavy for his age and may turn out to be a large cat.

He's a very sweet, handsome boy who would love to have a dog to lick his face and a friend to play with. For more information about him or to set up a meeting, please send an email to diadrascritters@gmail.com

Twinkletoes

Twinkletoes (89238)
When we got her a month ago, Twinkletoes was less than one pound, skinny, but active, funny and weird. She got her name because of the play dance she would do when seeing her foster brother, Fat Boy, across the gate during their separated quarantine. She loves to play, especially with twine, mice, and dog tails.

Twinkletoes would do best in a home with another cat, either a gentle, older kitten/cat or one about her size. She has learned "normal" behaviors from Fat Boy, but still has some funny habits, like staring off into space, probably looking at "ghosts".

*stare*
She is a loving, affectionate kitten and will make a great addition to a lucky family!

Introducing: Twinkletoes and Squishy Fat Boy!

We are proud to announce that both Twinkletoes and Squishy Fat Boy are now available for adoption. Twinkletoes will be on the website soon and both will have updated pics and bios shortly.

Twinkletoes (89238)
Squishy Fat Boy (89348)
They are approximately the same age, about 2 months. Twinkletoes looks similar to a "toyger" or other Bengal mix. Fat Boy is a domestic medium hair, very soft, round and cute. Both kittens are litter box trained and have had no accidents outside their litter box. They share two litter boxes, one on each level of the house, which are cleaned once or twice daily. They both eat dry food (currently Taste of the Wild and Holistic Life Feline) and also enjoy wet food (currently Science Diet). They are up-to-date on all kitten vaccinations and their adoption fee includes their rabies shots, which they are too young for. They can be brought back to the shelter when they are old enough to receive the rabies vaccine. Twinkletoes will be spayed and Fat Boy will be neutered on Wednesday, and then they will be ready to go home!

These two make a great pair but would also likely thrive in a family with other cats. They get along well with their foster sister, an adult pit bull, and will snuggle with her. Fat Boy, especially, loves his dog mommy and will run to her for attention.

For more information or to set up a meeting with them, please email me at diadrascritters@gmail.com.
